Robert Ernst was a 59-year-old marathon runner who was taking Vioxx when he suffered a heart attack and died. Merck recalled Vioxx on September 30, 2004 after the results of its internal APPROVe study were announced. The study compared 25 mg dose of Vioxx to treatment with placebo. It is not known whether Celebrex is passed through to human breast milk and what its effects could be on a nursing child.
If you have a question about whether you are allergic to Vioxx or if a certain medicine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Do not take any more doses of Vioxx unless your doctor tells you to do so. KEEP ALL DOCTOR AND LABORATORY APPOINTMENTS while you are using Vioxx. IT IS UNKNOWN IF VIOXX IS EXCRETED in breast milk.
